1930s - Haj Amin El-Husseini and Egyptian dignitaries Eltaher - Haj Amin Al-Husseini, Mufti of Palestine - Sheikh Sabri Abdin - Mirza Mahdi Rafie Meshki, Dean of the Iranian community in Cairo, and unidentified individuals. Photograph taken in a tea garden in Cairo possibly in the 1930s.

Numerous receptions and events were organized in those days to create awareness among the public as well as among officials about the question of Palestine and inform them about the struggle against colonialism in Arab and Islamic countries. If such events were occasionally used to honour Eltaher, other Egyptian personalities, or visitors to Cairo from other countries, the ultimate objective was to sensitize Arab officials and representatives of colonial powers about the violent popular opposition against the military occupation of these countries, but also against traitors and stooges of the colonial powers, especially Britain, France, Italy and the Netherlands. The events were well organized at a visible level of sophistication as witnessed through the photographs. They also reflected the feelings of the whole nation through its most educated people and its dignitaries. All these countries are now independent, except Palestine, or what’s left of it at time of writing, which remains the only country in the world under persistent foreign domination.
