Eltaher and Sheikh Fahmy Hashem (Abou Saleh). Sheikh Fahmy hails from a prominent Palestinian family. He worked eventually for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under King Abdallah I, and was at one time Minister Plenipotentiary for Jordan in Saudi Arabia. Following a fall-out with King Abdallah I he sought political asylum in Egypt in the 1940s, and that’s where he lived with his family the rest of his life. While in Cairo he was actively involved in various Arab, Palestinian and Islamic causes.
