Mohamed Ali Eltaher with Haj Amin Al-Husseini, Mufti of Palestine, during a reception at the Moroccan embassy in Beirut in 1971 or 1972. Both men have been friends and companions during the struggle for Palestine for practically half a century, though there were times when they differed politically. The two men broke up with each other for several years, and then renewed their friendship late in their lives. Haj Amin died in 1974 and was followed forty days later by Eltaher. They were both buried in the martyr’s cemetery in Beirut not far from each other.
